Let Shuffle pick when you cannot
Choosing from a list costs energy you may not have. Shuffle takes the choice away and shows you one task at a time.
In short
Press Shuffle (or the P key) and NoRush shows one task as a card. If it does not feel right, shuffle again. When one clicks, press "Do this one". Every task comes up once before any repeats.

Why taking the choice away helps
More options can make it harder to choose anything. In a well-known set of experiments, people offered a large selection were less likely to pick, and less satisfied, than people offered a few.1 A long task list is a large selection.
With ADHD, choosing also depends on interest more than importance. The brain's reward system responds differently, which is one reason a task can be important and still impossible to start.2 Being allowed to keep shuffling until something feels interesting works with that, instead of against it.
This is why decision paralysis is so common, and why "just pick one" is not useful advice.
How it works in NoRush
- One card at a time. You see a single task with its icon, time and energy level. Nothing else.
- No repeats until you have seen everything. Each task shows once per round.
- It listens to your energy. On low energy days, quick and easy tasks come up first.
- It can include Later. Tick "Include tasks from Later" to shuffle everything you have saved.
- Keyboard friendly. Space shuffles. Enter chooses.
Getting the most from it
- Use it for the first task of the day. Any start builds momentum for the next one.
- If nothing feels right after a full round, the tasks may be too big. Try breaking one down.
- Set your energy honestly in the morning plan. Shuffle is only as good as that answer.
What it does not do
Shuffle does not know your deadlines. If something is due today, pick it yourself, or keep only today's real work in Today.
Who uses it most
Remote workers, Freelancers, Marketers. Each of those pages shows where shuffle fits into a working day.
Try shuffle on your own tasks

Is Shuffle random?
Mostly. It is weighted by your energy for the day, so low energy days favor short, easy tasks and high energy days favor demanding ones. Within that, the order is random.
What if I have urgent tasks?
Shuffle is for when everything feels equal and you cannot start. For deadlines, choose the task directly. See how to prioritize with ADHD.
